If you are moving
Nothing. Asking for quotes, comparing them and turning them all down are free. We are paid by the moving company when a booking comes of it — a share of the price they quoted, taken out of their price rather than added to yours.
No. There is no obligation of any kind. If none of them suits you, do nothing and the matter ends there — nobody will ring you about it.
Every request is read by a person before it goes out, which usually happens the same working day. After that it is up to the companies: the first quotes often arrive within a day, and it is worth waiting a little for the rest before deciding.
Until you book, each quote carries a letter instead of a name. It keeps the comparison about the price, what is included and what previous customers said. The moment you accept one, you see exactly who you have booked.
A company cannot quote for anything until we have looked at its registration details and let it in. Reviews are read before they are published, so what you see about a company was written by somebody who actually moved with them.
Yes. Every quote has a conversation attached to it on your quotes page. Ask about the lift, the parking, what happens if it rains — the company answers there, and nothing is decided until you accept.
Tell the company in that conversation, or tell us. Everybody still quoting for your move is informed, so nobody turns up on the old day.
The price you accept is the price you and the company agreed. If the move turns out to be materially different from what was described — twice the boxes, no lift after all — any change has to be agreed between the two of you. Umzigo does not alter prices.
Your name, address and telephone number go to one company only: the one whose quote you accept. Until then the companies see the move, not you.
We write to you after the moving date with a link. Reviews are read before they go up, and the company can reply to yours.
If you run a moving company
There is no monthly fee and no minimum term. Quoting costs nothing, and a quote that goes nowhere costs nothing. We keep 10% only when a job is actually booked.
Apply through the partner page. We check the details you give before your account is activated, and after that you receive the requests whose pick-up address falls inside the area you cover.
